Iso Propyl Myristate (IPM) IPM has a dry, velvety, non-oily feel due to its ready absorption into the skin. General use in formulations for velvety emolliency.
Myristyl Myristate Waxy esters having lower melting points closer to body temperatures. Imparts velvety feel to the skin. Particularly useful in skin, hair, and make-up creams and lotions.
Cetyl Myristate Similar to Cetyl Palmitate but lower melting point 47-53°C.
Cetearyl Octanoate Colourless products possessing a fine ‘dry’ emollience. Imparts smooth after feel, promotes spreading, and reduces stickiness and occlusivity. Used in all cosmetics. Particularly useful in non-occlusive skin and make-up preparations, hair care preparations.

Glyceryl Trioctanoate Used as a non-oily alternative to CCTG, imparts high spreading character and is hydrolytically very stable.
Pentaerythritol Tetraoctanoate Colorless, used for grinding and dispersing pigments in colour cosmetics such as lipsticks. It also helps in reducing drag in lip care formulations such as lip balms.
PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides Clear liquid, soluble in water, decreases the defatting action of surfactants in bath products – shower gels, foam baths.
Spermaceti wax Waxy esters for creams and lotions.
MCT oils Colourless emollient. Good fatting oil component used in bath oils, skin care, and fatting preparations.
Cetyl Acetate Colourless low viscosity product. Used in make-up preparations, promotes spreading, reduces stickiness and as a binder in compressed powders.
Cetyl esters wax Waxy esters having lower melting points closer to body temperatures. Imparts velvety feel to the skin. Particularly useful in skin, hair, and make-up creams and lotions.
Iso Propyl Palmitate (IPP) IPP is a dry, soft, non-oily emollient generally used in economical formulations. Excellent solvent for mineral oil, silicone and lanolin.
Trimethylol Propane TriCaprylate/ TriCaprate Colourless, odourless, provides slip and lubricity in hair care preparations.
Octyl Palmitate Dry light, silky emollient. Enhances gloss in hair grooming products. Can be used as a binder in pressed powdered make-ups.
Stearyl Stearate Waxy ester having higher melting point 56-58°C.
Octyl Stearate Colourless, odourless emollient for non-occlusive creams, lotions, bath oils, suntans, anti-perspirants, and other cosmetic and topical formulations.
Acetyl Tri Butyl Citrate Widely used in nail lacquers as per approval from FDA for its safety. Also used in hair sprays and aerosol bandages.
Di IsoPropyl Adipate A very low viscosity, colourless liquid of neutral odour. A good solvent for aromatic oils and perfumes, a super fatting agent for aqueous alcoholic lotions – Aftershave lotions, colognes, and skin fresheners.
Propylene glycol DiCaprylate / DiCaprate Derived from edible vegetable oils. These are medium chain triglycerides used in bath oils, creams, lotions, lipstick, make-up bases, pre-and aftershave lotions, flavor and fragrance carriers.
Coco – Caprylate / Caprate Universal use, good lubricating properties. Used in creams, lotions, skin and massage oils.
Pentaerythritol TetraCaprylate / TetraCaprate Excellent film-forming character for shampoos as boundary lubricant. Also in make-up and skin care preparations.
C 12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE A very light liquid which is insoluble in water yet readily emulsifiable saturated compound. It is non-irritating, non-toxic, non-sensitizing and non-comedogenic in nature. It is an excellent solubilizer for sunscreen agents for use in sunscreen creams and lotions.
